Salma Seyam, M.A.
Salma Seyam is a counseling psychologist with a BA in Psychology and an MA in Counseling Psychology from the American University in Cairo (AUC).
She has provided psychotherapy during supervised clinical training in a variety of settings, using a person-centered, integrative approach that draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), polyvagal theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and emotionally focused techniques.
Beyond individual therapy, Salma has co-facilitated group therapy for individuals with Complex PTSD, moderated mental health panels, led community workshops, and served as a teaching assistant at AUC’s Psychology Department. She is also currently an editorial assistant on a book project focused on culturally sensitive mental health care.
Her work supports individuals navigating grief, major life transitions, anxiety, trauma, depression, identity exploration, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges.
At the heart of her practice is a deep belief in creating safe, compassionate spaces for healing, reflection, and growth.
