Omar Abu Gabal, M.A.
Omar Abougabal is a psychotherapist with experience supporting individuals and groups through emotional and psychological challenges. He holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the American University in Cairo (AUC). His approach is grounded in humanistic and relational principles, integrating elements from Existential Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Omar views the therapeutic relationship as the main driver of change and creates a space where clients can safely explore, question, and reconnect with who they are. Omar trained at the AUC Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center, at Up Therapy and at Lotus, working with adults from diverse backgrounds in both Arabic and English. He has supported clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-worth struggles, emotional dysregulation, and relationship challenges. He also co-facilitated an interpersonal group therapy for individuals experiencing depression, and has led multiple psychoeducation workshops on self-esteem, anger, boundaries and healthy relationships.
