Maha Edward, M.A.
Maha Edward is a bilingual counseling psychologist who specializes in individual and couples therapy for emerging adults and adults from diverse backgrounds.
With a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the American University in Cairo and a bachelor’s degree in computer and systems engineering from Ain Shams University, Maha brings 24 years of leadership and human-centered insight from the corporate world into her therapeutic work.
Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, self-esteem, workplace stress, parenting and relational issues. She uses an integrative, client-centered approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Humanistic, and Family Systems models.
Maha is also passionate about facilitating psychoeducational workshops on various mental health topics and in particular marriage and relationship enrichment.
As part of her clinical training, Maha gained experience at the Psychological Counseling Services and Training Center at AUC , Al Rakhawy Hospital, and private practice clinics.
She provided individual and couples therapy, conducted assessments, and led psychoeducational workshops. Fluent in both English and Arabic.
Maha believes that therapy is a collaborative journey where clients can express themselves freely and without fear of judgment as they learn to deal with life’s challenges, explore their inner selves and grow.
